Why are car keys so huge, and why do they need three buttons?
A car key of a typical car today is nearly as big as an old mobile phone and certainly bigger than a walkman or ipod.
Main function of a car key is to unlock or lock the car. So why not just have one button, which locks the car if it is locked and vice versa.
There is no need for an extra button to unlock the trunk. Just unlock the car.
Surely the shaft, that goes into the key slot can also be reduced in length or completely removed. Why not use a starter button?
Designing a smaller and simpler key is not only useful for the owner, but it also communicates the carís brand.
